Born in Tenterfield, New South Wales, Allen rose from country beginnings to international acclaim as both a performer and one of pop music’s most successful songwriters.

These include “I Honestly Love You” (Olivia Newton-John’s first US No.1 hit), “Don’t Cry Out Loud”, “I’d Rather Leave While I’m in Love”, and the Academy Award-winning “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)”, co-written with Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager, and Christopher Cross. His patriotic anthem “I Still Call Australia Home” has become part of Australia’s cultural fabric.
